Parent Governor - Health & Safety
I am married to Ian and have three children with now only one left at Lorton School. We have been involved with the school since 2006 and also live in the village of Lorton. I care deeply about the school and local community and am involved with a number of different groups within the village, taking an active role in various committees. I work as an office manager for a local company and enjoy walking in my spare time.
Parent Governor - Deputy Chair, Pupil Progress
I am a parent of two children, who are lucky enough to be at Lorton School. I have managed Wordsworth House and Garden for the National Trust for the past ten years. My career previous to that was in secondary teaching, ESOL teaching and museum education and management. I feel very privileged to play a role in supporting Lorton School and the gifted head and staff who provide such a warm and caring environment for our children.
LEA Governor - Finance, Staffing
I have been a governor at Lorton School since 2005. Prior to moving to Cumbria in 2004, I was a management consulting Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM. I now work part time in computing and photography. My wife Shelagh and I have three children, two of whom went to Lorton School. I am passionate about the school's ethos and apply my management skills to assist Olivia with budget and staffing.
Parent Governor - Community, Safeguarding
I am a former Secondary teacher, now cycle event organiser. I have three children, two thriving in Lorton School and the eldest who ‘graduated’ in 2015. I live in the village, trying to escape to the hills as often as possible.
Co-opted Governor - Chair, Finance, Staff, Buildings
Company Director of Red Raven Design Ltd. providing architectural services and active member of community groups such as the Cockermouth Civic Trust and the Cockermouth Market Place steering committee.
