Olivia Harrison

Head of School

I have worked at Lorton School since 1998 as teacher, Headteacher and now as Head of School. I was very lucky to be able to send my daughter to Lorton School and watch her thrive in the close-knit family atmosphere. I enjoy working with the LGB on continuing to develop our lovely school.

Andy Williamson

LGB Member

I am a former secondary school teacher and now a cycle event organiser. I have three children, all of whom thrived at Lorton School. I live in the village and try to escape to the hills as often as possible.

Judith Johnson

Co-Chair

I am a retired Secondary School teacher, spending my whole working life in the area, most recently at Keswick School for over twenty years as Head of Religion, Philosophy and Ethics. I was enticed back into the school environment by the lovely family feel of Lorton school, the dedicated staff and wonderful learning environment.

Joanne Laker

Executive Headteacher

I joined Lorton School as Executive Headteacher in January 2024. I also serve as Executive Headteacher at Braithwaite CE Primary School, where I began as Headteacher in 2007 when I moved to Cumbria, and at Dean CE Primary School, which I joined in September 2019 before taking on the Executive Headship of both Braithwaite and Dean.

I hope that, by working together across all three schools, we can support one another and continue to grow and thrive as small rural schools within the Good Shepherd Trust.

Andrea Brimelow

Community

I have been a member of Lorton's LGB since 2023, following my decision to leave my role as Head of School at another local primary school. I joined the school wanting to help the school thrive in its unique and stunning setting and continue to utilise my skills and experience in primary education.

Debbie Watson

Co-Chair

I am a retired Primary Teacher - previously having taught in Cumbria for 10 years.  I have also worked in outdoor education and with a charity, supporting schools with global citizenship.  I love Lorton's wonderful staff, the opportunities they give their pupils , engendering curiosity and the life-long love of learning in each one.  I joined the Board in 2024 and am committed to support the school in its work.
