Lorton vale extends from Crummock Water to the North boundary of the parish; is flanked on the West by Low Fell and Whin Fell and on the East by Whiteside, Whinlatter, and Wythop fells; is well-wooded and beautifully picturesque; and contains a famous old yew tree immortalised by Wordsworth in his poem "Yew Trees".

Melbreak Communities - The Melbreak Communities comprises the four parishes of Blindbothel, Buttermere, Lorton and Loweswater. This community website aims to provide a unique, point source of information for people living or working in or visiting the area.

Lorton Tennis Club - Lorton Tennis Club is Clubmark accredited and is located in Cumbria between Cockermouth and Keswick in the beautiful Lorton Valley. The website provides information about membership, fixtures and other events.
